International Summer Course 2026 : Future-Proofing Global Business and Accounting
Built for students who think across borders and disciplines
USU's international partnerships usually start small — a shared paper, an old classmate abroad, a hallway chat at a conference. This Summer Course is how the Faculty of Vocational Education turns that groundwork into something structured: a credit-bearing program that puts international students and scholars directly into USU's classrooms.
The curriculum responds to a real shift happening in business right now — faster digital change, real pressure to manage finance sustainably, and governance that keeps getting more complicated. It's built for people who can move across disciplines instead of staying in one lane.
By the end of the MOOC, a learner should be able to:
- Evaluate how AI, data analytics, cloud/ERP systems, and digital platforms are transforming business and accounting practice.
- Analyze fintech, taxation, and financial-management issues arising from the digital economy.
- Apply governance, risk-management, and ESG/sustainability disclosure frameworks to real organizational cases.
- Connect global business principles (including Islamic business ethics) to local context, using Lake Toba's community economy as a live case study.
- Produce an integrative case report that draws on at least three modules to analyze a real digital-transformation or governance issue.
